What is reported vs derived here

Reported: the passage, verbatim, from Future Visions ch. 5 with its own note traced to International UFO Reporter, September 1978 (checked against the scan), including the NSA tape order and the equipment-malfunction logging; the type masses and gauges; the chaff cartridge payload. Measured/derived: the energy ladder from NIST-JANAF integrated enthalpies and fracture work, with brackets on every estimated rung; the TNT and antimatter rulers. Modelled: the glow sphere (pressure-equilibrium heated air + blackbody), the canopy flux, the fall times and the 3D staging. Reading: the two verdicts. Every displayed number is re-derived by scripts/mig21-disintegration-tune.mjs before the build passes.

What this bench can and cannot claim

It can claim conditionals: IF the jet was vaporised, the flash and the white smoke follow from handbook constants; IF it merely broke, the rain and the debris follow from ballistics. It cannot claim what happened over Cuba in March 1967: the event has exactly one source, no levels, no wreck, no second witness. Both verdicts are conditional prices, and the file view says so.

Where this bench takes liberties

The 3D scene is staging, not reconstruction: the jets fly a generic formation over a generic sea, the sphere's size is arbitrary (none is recorded), and fragment shapes are symbolic. The fireball model is deliberately simple (heated air at pressure equilibrium radiating as a blackbody); it is there to set scales, not to simulate a weapon. The airframe is priced as aluminium with the engine on an iron ladder; magnesium parts and the D-16 alloy's few percent of copper are ignored. The wingman's spread distance is unrecorded; the bench puts it on a dial.
