Why negative energy at all

Einstein's equation G = 8πG/c⁴ · T runs both ways: pick any spacetime and it hands you the matter needed to hold it. The Alcubierre warp geometry, fed in, returns a density that is negative in the bubble wall. The drive does not choose exotic matter; without it, the geometry simply cannot exist.

What is exact vs stylised

Exact: that a superluminal warp needs negative energy; the ring-shaped density −(v²)(y²+z²)/r²·(df/dr)²; the four published reductions (Alcubierre → Van Den Broeck → White → subluminal 2024); the Casimir floor and the Ford–Roman bound.
