THE DOCUMENT

FBI-UAP-D004, D005, D006, D007 and D008 (a Federal Bureau of Investigation FD-1057 series, Northeastern US, 2024) and FBI-UAP-D009 (“FD-302-67”) and FBI-UAP-D010 (“FD-302-71”), titled to a Northeastern Orb Sighting, 2026, are seven documents from the U.S. Department of War’s PURSUE Release 03, published at war.gov/ufo and cleared 12 June 2026. All seven are FBI forms: electronic communications and interview reports documenting reports of orbs and lights in the northeastern United States.

Why this one is worth your time

These seven FBI forms follow reports of orbs and lights in the northeastern US across two timeframes and at least two sets of witnesses. The 2024 forms are unusual in one respect worth flagging plainly: alongside a witness’s account, they include FD-1057s in which FBI agents record observing lights themselves during site visits. This briefing sets out what the forms document, keeps the agents’ own observations and the witnesses’ accounts as the forms attribute them, and leaves the question of what was seen where the files leave it.

What the documents say

The cluster falls into two parts: a 2024 series concerning one witness and the FBI’s site work, and a 2026 pair concerning a separate sighting.

The 2024 contact and the witness’s account (FBI-UAP-D004). This FD-1057 documents contact with a witness who reported repeated observations of objects he described as plasma orbs near his residence, and who had been referred to the FBI in August 2024. The form records that he had privately documented sightings of orb-like anomalous lights dating back to a first observation in November 2021, observed near his property and sometimes as close as 200 yards, hovering and moving, above the horizon and also close to the ground, within the trees and near the water. It records that he set up trail cameras and other sensors, and reported spikes in gamma radiation that he said correlated with sightings, along with unusual effects on electronics and GPS data. The form records that he had not been interested in the topic before November 2021, had lived at the residence since 2006 without seeing such lights before, and that a neighbour to the south told him they had also seen strange lights in the tree line.

The witness interview (FBI-UAP-D005). This FD-1057 documents an interview at an FBI office. It records the witness’s account of a first sighting around 5am: a single light that split into two or three, forming a triangular pattern that remained about ten minutes, with the lights disappearing immediately after an accidental flash photo. It records a later sighting, the witness’s statement that the lights typically appear at dusk or night and seem to morph and move laterally, and his description of using ADS-B aircraft data to try to rule out aircraft. The form also records the witness recounting a 1996 incident in which a vehicle he was driving in New Mexico reportedly shut down under a large light before its electronics returned, and records his acknowledgement that he had never had an interest in UAPs and that much of what he said “may seem weird or crazy”.

The site survey and line of sight (FBI-UAP-D006). This FD-1057 documents a site survey of the witness’s property, listing numerous enclosed tree-line and trail-camera photos. It records agents being taken to a wooded area about 200 yards from the home where a trail camera faces west, signs indicating the area was restricted from hunting or fishing, and a stone wall. It records that multiple homes to the east would have line of sight to the area where the witness reported activity, and that the witness offered to coordinate evening access for agents and equipment.

Agents’ own observations (FBI-UAP-D007). This FD-1057 documents a visit during which agents record observing lights themselves. The form states the weather was about 48 degrees and overcast. It records that around 4:45pm an agent saw a white pulsation of light appear that began to move horizontally with somewhat erratic movements, at or below the tree line, that “danced around less than ten seconds, moving side to side, and then disappeared”. It records further white lights at the top of the tree line that pulsed and flashed white or blue, plumes of broad light, and at about 5:30pm a bright white light above a bright red light at tree-top height that moved quickly side to side, disappeared and reappeared. The form records that five photos were taken but were mostly blurry, and that a tripod would be needed for clear images.

The follow-up survey (FBI-UAP-D008). This FD-1057 documents a daytime survey of the same area to photograph and check the locations of the earlier observations. It records that agents found nothing unusual on the ground or at treetop level in the areas where activity had been seen, noted an apparent former fire pit with no evidence of recent burns, and assessed that tree cover was moderate and that “it would be unrealistic for someone to fly a drone or other craft at night without the risk of crashing into tree limbs”.

The 2026 sighting (FBI-UAP-D009 and FBI-UAP-D010). These two FD-302 forms document a separate sighting reported by a different couple. By the account in FBI-UAP-D009, on an evening in 2026 a witness arrived home around 9:15pm and noticed an intense bright light hovering below the tree line in the backyard; the witness’s partner came out to look as well. The form records the light described as a red sphere about a metre in diameter, the red colour as brilliant and unlike any the witness had seen, and inside it, at the centre, what the witness described as a “white plasma sun” about the size of a basketball. It records a second, identical orb appearing above the first, the two moving together west above the tree line, and the witness’s statement that the orbs were silent and “moved in tandem as if they were flying in formation or were tethered together” before appearing to merge. A video is noted as attached. The form records that a few weeks later the witness saw several white orbs travel over the house from west to east, higher in altitude and the apparent size of a dime at arm’s length. FBI-UAP-D010 documents the same event from the second witness, recording the lights as a yellow ball about the size of a basketball and a larger one about the size of a beach ball, an agent note estimating the objects at about 30 yards away and 20 to 30 feet above the ground, the objects moving laterally behind trees and a neighbour’s house, and the witness’s separate account of a strange red light seen near power lines in 1987.

What the documents do not say

The documents do not state what the lights or orbs were. The FBI forms record witness accounts and, in the 2024 set, agents’ own observations; by the FD-302s’ own footer, the FBI forms contain “neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI”. The forms describe what was reported and observed, not an identification.

The accounts and observations are concentrated around a small number of witnesses and locations. The reported correlations, such as the gamma-radiation spikes and the electronics and GPS effects, are recorded as the witness’s reports and the forms do not include the underlying data. The photographs taken by agents are noted as mostly blurry and lacking context. The files are heavily redacted: names, exact locations, contact details and case identifiers are withheld throughout, so the documents do not place the events on a specific map.

Where the case connects

This is one of two modern FBI cases in Release 03. The other is the Colorado Springs 2022 cluster (Release 03 Briefing R3-01), a separate set of FBI forms and an Intelligence Community analysis about a single daytime sighting. The two cases share the agency and the recent timeframe; the objects and circumstances differ.

Two Release 03 videos relate to this Northeastern orb activity: FBI-UAP-PR003, “Orbs Over the Pond” (October 2024), and FBI-UAP-PR004, “Northeastern Orb Sighting” (July 2025). At the time of writing these are not yet individually catalogued by war.gov, so this briefing notes them as related material rather than treating them as separate sourced items.

The cluster also leaves its own loose ends. The videos, photographs and sensor data referenced in the forms are not part of these text files; the reported gamma-radiation and electronics effects are recorded without the underlying readings; and the 2024 and 2026 reports are titled to the same Northeastern orb activity without the documents stating how, or whether, the witnesses and events are connected. Any later release that surfaces the catalogued videos, the sensor data, or a unifying analysis lands in this series when it does.
