Netflix documentary series presented by Graham Hancock and produced by ITN Productions. The eight-part first season was released on 11 November 2022, and a second season, The Americas, followed on 16 October 2024. It takes Hancock’s argument to a mass audience site by site, at Gunung Padang, Cholula, Malta, Bimini and elsewhere. On 30 November 2022 the Society for American Archaeology wrote to Netflix and ITN over the signature of its president, Daniel H. Sandweiss, asking that the series be moved out of the documentary category, objecting to its portrayal of archaeologists, and arguing that the lost-civilisation genre has historical ties to white supremacist thought and diminishes the achievements of indigenous peoples. Hancock has denied that charge at length, most publicly in a four-hour exchange with the archaeologist Flint Dibble on The Joe Rogan Experience in April 2024.
