November 1989 to spring 1990. Hundreds of reports across Belgium of large, silent triangular craft with corner lights. On the night of 30-31 March 1990 F-16s were scrambled and logged radar lock-ons with performance the Belgian Air Force described as outside the envelope of existing aircraft. Major General Wilfried De Brouwer handled the case publicly; the United States formally assured Belgium the craft were not American. Key exhibit in the “black triangle” chapter of In Plain Sight.
