Canadian self-taught experimenter, working from an apartment laboratory in Vancouver, whose reported results are collected under the name Hutchison Effect. He demonstrated apparatus in front of an American evaluation team and was the subject of a Los Alamos report that was subsequently destroyed. On returning to Vancouver at the turn of the 1990s he found that Canadian authorities had confiscated roughly half his equipment, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police citing an environmental hazard; Hutchison attributed the seizure to American pressure. The Hunt for Zero Point presents him as an unresolved case rather than a vindicated one.
