The date and how it was made
Posnansky derived a founding date of around 15,000 BCE for the complex by assuming that the Kalasasaya enclosure had been laid out to the solstice sightlines of its own era, measuring the present misalignment, and extrapolating backwards along the 41,000-year cycle of Earth’s axial obliquity. He said as much himself: the date rested solely and exclusively on that obliquity difference. His arithmetic was checked by others and holds; his premise, that the surviving stones of a heavily ruined and partly reconstructed enclosure preserve their original sightlines, was not checked and is the weak link.
Where it left the argument
Current archaeology places Tiwanaku’s founding around AD 110 and its monumental florescence around AD 375 to 700, on ceramic seriation and screened radiocarbon. The gap is roughly fifteen thousand years and it is the single largest divergence between Fingerprints of the Gods and the field it discusses. The node exists because the vault carried Tiahuanaco and Puma Punku with no entry for the man whose date the alternative literature still uses.
