Second director of Lockheed’s Skunk Works, father of the F-117 stealth programme. Widely quoted, via aerospace journalist Jim Goodall and others, as hinting “we have things out in the desert that are 50 years beyond what you can comprehend” and, at a 1993 talk, that the US could “take ET home”. Joked that man-made UFOs are “Un Funded Opportunities”. The remarks are secondhand recollections of a man who died in 1995; they recur across the crash-retrieval literature including In Plain Sight. As president of the Skunk Works he is one of the named sources in The Hunt for Zero Point, and his account of Have Blue and the F-117 supplies the concealment precedent the book’s whole argument rests on.
