The worldwide UAP database Jacques Vallee designed inside AAWSAP, intended as the programme’s data warehouse and its most durable deliverable. By his account it had gathered some 260,000 records before BAASS was cut after two years, at which point the later phases, the cleaning and the actual analysis, were never built.
What happened to it
A copy of the unfinished database later leaked into private hands. Vallee, who knows the field’s appetite for raw data, compared releasing it to handing out a few kilos of unprocessed, highly radioactive material, and decided not to sue, not to surrender his own private work, and to stop keeping the journals. That decision closes Forbidden Science 7.
Why it matters more than it looks
Almost every argument about UAP statistics runs into the same wall: there is no clean, deduplicated, provenance-tracked corpus to run it on. Capella was the one serious attempt to build one with government money, and the thing that stopped it was a contract termination rather than a scientific result.
