The story enters the literature through Polish author Igor Witkowski, citing interrogation files he says he was shown, relayed West by Nick Cook (The Hunt for Zero Point, 2001) and expanded by Joseph Farrell; no primary documentation has surfaced, and historians treat the narrative as unproven. Closer Encounters names it “Project Chronos” and makes it the hinge of its entire history: the claimed 1944-45 rupture of space-time that turned an occult elite into the Breakaway Civilization.
