British inventor of the Searl Effect Generator, a set of concentric stator rings flanked by rolling permanent magnets which he says self-accelerated past a threshold speed, generated electricity, lost weight, hovered and on one occasion flew away. He says government agents entered his home in May 1982, confiscated a unit that was supplying his house with electricity, and tore out the wiring.
