United States Army and Air Force officer, retired lieutenant colonel, and one of the most prolific Roswell researchers. He co-wrote UFO Crash at Roswell (1991) and The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell (1994), which put the case at the centre of the field, and then spent the following thirty years withdrawing parts of his own earlier work as witnesses failed to hold up.
That trajectory is what makes him useful. He argued the strong version, then published the retractions: the Gerald Anderson and Frank Kaufmann accounts he had relied on, and later the Philip J. Corso book, which he examined against the service record and against the CIA’s own building chronology. A researcher who scores his own earlier claims in public is rare in this literature.
