A CIA memorandum of 27 November 1974 records that the Alameda police sought Pat Price’s help in the 1974 Patty Hearst kidnapping and that he “provided a significant amount of data, including identification of people later proven to be involved”, and that the exchange was taped by the SRI investigators and checked by an SRI group leader. Its author writes that his own knowledge of such police cases was anecdotal and that he had not attempted direct verification of the SRI claims.
