Late December 1980 incident at the joint UK/US RAF Bentwaters / Woodbridge bases. USAF security personnel investigated unidentified lights in the forest. Jim Penniston has described reaching a landed craft and inspecting it at close quarters, in accounts that grew from the mid-1990s on; the contemporaneous statements and radio logs from 1980-81 place the airmen no closer than about 50 metres to receding lights. The site’s Rendlesham Light bench sets both readings against the Orford Ness lighthouse geometry.

Per Elizondo

“John Burroughs … had his medical files classified … forced the Air Force to release his files [due to Sen. McCain]. As a result he was able to get full medical disability.”
