The set of standing electromagnetic waves in the cavity between the Earth’s surface and the lower ionosphere, with a fundamental near 7.83 hertz and harmonics above it. Winfried Otto Schumann predicted them in 1952 and they were first measured later that decade; they are excited mainly by global lightning activity, and they are measured continuously today. Christopher Dunn makes the fundamental the source his building couples to, reading the Great Pyramid of Giza as a harmonic integer of the planet that draws energy while offering less resistance than the surrounding rock — see Giza Power Plant Theory. The measurement is solid and uncontroversial; what it will not carry on its own is the enormous borrowing it has attracted in consciousness, wellness and free-energy literature, where the 7.83 figure is treated as a biological or spiritual constant.
