Claimed crash of an avocado-shaped craft near San Antonio, New Mexico, in August 1945, weeks after the Trinity test some twenty miles away. The two witnesses, Reme Baca and Jose Padilla, were boys at the time and gave their accounts decades later; Jacques Vallee and Paola Harris published the case as Trinity: The Best-Kept Secret in 2021.
The author deflated his own case
The most useful thing about the case is what Vallee did with the physical evidence. A metal bracket recovered from the site was tested and retested and showed, in his words, no hint of advanced manufacturing; the mysterious fibres inside it turned out to be ordinary rayon or nylon. He printed that result in Forbidden Science 7 as plainly as he had printed the claim, which is a rare thing in this literature and is why the case is worth keeping in the file at all.
Where the dispute stands
Critics have documented problems with the witnesses’ timeline and with corroborating detail; the site’s own reading is that the artefact analysis is the checkable part and it came back ordinary, while the narrative rests on two recollections given many decades after the event.
