United States Air Force major general who forced his way into a private demonstration of Townsend Brown’s charged discs in Los Angeles on 21 March 1952, and telephoned Lieutenant General H. A. Craig the next morning. The transcript, quoted by Paul LaViolette, records him saying the demonstration frightened him because it was being conducted by a private group, and that if it ever got away it was at the stage atomic development had been in its early days. It is the best-dated official reaction to Brown’s work in the open record.
