The History Channel series that began in 2009 and has run for twenty seasons and more, and the main vector by which Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis material reached a mass audience after the books. It draws on Erich von Daniken for its frame and its sites, and on Zecharia Sitchin for its named cast and chronology: Anunnaki, Nibiru, the gold, the engineered worker. Its format is the same as Ancient Apocalypse, a presenter and a sequence of sites and a question left open, but with a rotating roster of speakers and no single authorial thesis anyone can be held to, which makes it much harder to answer than a book. Its practical effect is that the vocabulary now circulates detached from its sources: most online use of Anunnaki cites neither Sitchin nor a tablet, and the meme formats the series generated have outlived the arguments they came from.
