On the evening of 29 December 1980 near Huffman, Texas, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Landrum’s seven-year-old grandson Colby reported a diamond-shaped object venting reddish orange flame at close range, escorted by CH-47 Chinook helicopters. All three subsequently developed symptoms consistent with radiation exposure; Cash’s included blistering, temporary blindness and hair loss. Their claim against the United States government, seeking twenty million dollars, was dismissed. Paul LaViolette reads the injuries as microwave exposure from a Project Skyvault type beam that locked on by mistake.
