He has said that he did not see the object with his own eyes and was working the targeting pod, not looking out of the canopy. That distinction matters to how the case is weighed: the visual encounter belongs to Dave Fravor and Alex Dietrich on the earlier sortie, and the video is a sensor record made separately. Sceptical analysts press the point, and it is a correction the case can absorb without losing anything, since the two halves were never the same event.
