Multiple objects appearing at above 80,000 feet, holding, and then descending to near sea level in a fraction of the time any known aircraft would need, over a period of days before the intercept. He was the man who vectored Dave Fravor’s flight to the contact. His account is the instrumented half of the case: the aircrew supply the visual and the targeting-pod video, and the ship’s radar supplies the track that makes the kinematics arguable at all.

The site’s Tic Tac bench works from the reported figures, including the descent Day describes; both the 80,000-to-50-feet version in Imminent and the 28,000-feet-in-0.78-seconds version are reported numbers rather than measurements a reader can check.
