The robot inspection that scored Christopher Dunn’s one falsifiable prediction. Rudolf Gantenbrink’s 1993 crawler had found the southern shaft of the Queen’s Chamber blocked by a slab with two copper pins; on 16 to 17 September 2002 the Pyramid Rover drilled through it on live television and found a small space and a second, rougher blocking stone. On 29 May 2010 the Djedi project’s snake camera went through the same hole and photographed the hidden face for the first time: red ochre masons’ marks, and the backs of the two copper pins, which curve back on themselves into small loops with nothing attached — staples, not electrodes. The images were released in May 2011 and the work published as Richardson et al., Journal of Field Robotics 30(3), 2013. Dunn had predicted a vertical shaft leading to a bedrock chamber and more copper in the form of cables or wires attached to the fittings. There was no shaft, no cable and no fluid staining. As a falsifiable prediction honestly made and honestly scoreable, it failed.
