The Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review, the Pentagon office that clears manuscripts, briefings and imagery written by current and former defence personnel before public release. It is the gate every insider UAP memoir passes through, and it shapes what those books can say.

What a clearance means

It means the office found no classified information in the text. It is not an endorsement, not a validation, and not a statement that anything in the manuscript is true, a distinction the books themselves are usually careful about and their readers usually are not. Future Visions was cleared on 26 February 2025 under case number 24-SB-0182, and the same process required a pseudonym for the fourth Tic Tac Incident aircrew member, who is still serving.

The other direction

The same office is on the release side of the record. Luis Elizondo’s Form 1910 went to DOPSR, which replied that it could not clear media for a restricted audience and invited a request for public release instead, which was granted with an unlimited distribution stamp. That reply is why the three Navy videos reached a newspaper lawfully rather than as a leak.
