Pre-Pioneer 10 flyby (1973) remote viewing of Jupiter by Ingo Swann. The session record has Swann describing crystals high in the atmosphere, “maybe like rings of Saturn”; Puthoff writes that “he found a ring around Jupiter”. NASA dates the first evidence of a ring around the planet to a Voyager 1 photograph of 4 March 1979.

Significance

Puthoff writes that “the flyby revealed that an unanticipated ring did in fact exist” and that the result “was published by us in advance of the ring’s discovery (Targ & Puthoff, 1977)”. The 1973 session record says that neither Harold Sherman nor Swann “claim validity for their results”.
