A scientific panel convened by the CIA in January 1953, chaired by physicist H. P. Robertson. It reviewed the best-documented UFO cases, concluded the phenomena posed no direct physical threat to national security, and recommended a public education programme to reduce public interest in UFO reports. Its proceedings are recorded in the Durant Report. Released in PURSUE Release 03 as CIA-UAP-002.
The Project Blue Book case folder on the Tremonton Film 1952 released in PURSUE Release 06 never mentions a panel or the CIA: Robertson, panel, Scientific Advisory, Central Intelligence and C.I.A each return no hit in its text, and the Air Force Flying Discs File 1952 of the same year returns none for Robertson or panel either.
