The U.S. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board’s Ad Hoc Committee to Review Project Blue Book, deliberating 1966 to 1967, known in the literature as the O’Brien committee. Its deliberations and recommendations are published as PURSUE Release 04 record DOW-UAP-D092.
The committee recommended contracting a university-affiliated scientific team to investigate selected sightings; the Air Force adopted the recommendation, producing the University of Colorado study under Edward Condon whose 1968 report preceded Blue Book’s 1969 closure.
