Aerospace engineer who spent his career at NASA Ames Research Center on spacecraft and mission design, and a co-author of the materials paper that Garry Nolan, Jacques Vallee and colleagues published in Elsevier’s Progress in Aerospace Sciences in 2022 on the Council Bluffs and Ubatuba samples.
Why the co-authorship matters
The paper is one of two, with the Haynesville 1966 paper of 2024, that carried this material through peer review at a mainstream aerospace journal. Getting there required an author list that a reviewer would take seriously on the engineering as well as the analysis, and Lemke is the engineering half of that. He has also spoken publicly about the propulsion problem the reported performance implies, from the position of someone who designed real spacecraft for a living.
