Air force base outside Dayton, Ohio, formed in 1948 from Wright Field and Patterson Field. It is the physical address of most of the institutional UAP record: Air Materiel Command was headquartered there in 1947, Project Sign, Project Grudge and Project Blue Book were run from there, and the Foreign Technology Division that succeeded them sat there until 1992.

It is also where almost every crash-retrieval claim terminates. The routing in Philip J. Corso’s account, the destination in the 1947 Roswell narratives, and the hangar in the folklore all point to the same base. No document in the released record places recovered non-human material there, and the claim rests entirely on later testimony.
