An American historian and archaeologist who writes inside the ancient-mysteries field while arguing against its central claims. Her books include The Sumerian Controversy (2013), a report on the Tell Khaiber excavation, and The Anunnaki Connection (2020). Her position is unusual in the genre in two ways. She rejects the load-bearing artefacts of the tradition she belongs to, dismissing Nibiru as a rogue planet, accepting Michael S. Heiser’s philological critique of Zecharia Sitchin, and explaining the elongated skulls and giant iconography by ordinary means. And she concludes that the Anunnaki were human, a physically distinct caste of advanced people displaced by a prehistoric catastrophe who settled among the Natufians around 8200 BCE, which places her closer to the lost civilisation literature than to Sitchin. Her second layer, that those human elites were in contact with nonhuman sages reached through consciousness rather than met in the flesh, rests on Enochian magic, an interview about hypothetical cortical receptors, and an anonymous correspondent, and is the part of her work that cannot be checked. Her account of her own training, and of an undergraduate assignment to select and debunk a named pseudoarchaeologist, is the source of the guild framing she uses throughout.
