DOW-UAP-D175 in PURSUE Release 07: a 141-page BAASS report dated 23 November 2010, whose covers title it Summary Report on BAASS UAP Analysis Capabilities; the release titles it a self assessment. It says that between 2008 and 2010 BAASS was contracted by the Defense Warning Office of the DIA to set up, staff and equip a new organisation to study the threat to national security associated with advanced aerospace technology, and that by modelling a few sentinel cases it demonstrates the resources built under contract HHM402-08-C-0072. Its executive summary also refers to incidents of the 1960s and 1970s along the so called Northern Tier, over military sites.

It lists BAASS’s field equipment by type, from night vision devices and a thermal imaging monocular to microscopes, an X-ray fluorescence analyser and instruments for radiation and electromagnetic fields, and a Data Warehouse it titles Project CAPELLA, holding eleven databases. Among them are a Sign/Grudge/Blue Book Database, a MUFON Case Management System Database, a Project Colares Database, a Utah Ranch Database and a Post-Utah Ranch Effects Database (Utah Ranch Investigation 2009-2010); their format is based on a six-layer model.

Its section 4.1 sits under the heading of one case, the November 2004 encounter between a carrier strike group and an object described as shaped like a Tic Tac, excerpted from a report of an investigation by personnel assigned to the DIA that the report does not identify by title, date or number. The object is about 46 feet long in the case pages and 40 in the executive summary. BAASS then models it and others: g loads for a descent from 60,000 feet to sea level in 0.5 to 10 seconds, flow around a Tic Tac shape and a right circular cylinder from 100 to 1,500 mph, a steel disc entering water, the pressure field of a 10 m sphere in water, opened with the 1967 Shag Harbour case, and the radar cross section of a coated sphere.

The report carries no author, addressee or signature, and its reference list is wholly boxed. It calls a Threat Assessment of UAP and USO performance part of BAASS’s mission and presents none (Unidentified Submerged Objects). No page prints AAWSAP or mentions continuing or renewing the contract, although the war.gov site’s description reads it as a case for the programme’s continuation. Its summary calls BAASS one of the few companies able to do such studies and says it has built the largest known UAP performance and behaviour Data Warehouse in the world.
