Technical papers produced under the AAWSAP programme for the DIA’s Defense Warning Office. PURSUE Release 06 publishes 37 of them, DOW-UAP-D117 to D153, dated on their covers from 14 December 2009 to 11 January 2011; accounts before the release usually gave the total as 38.
Each carries a Defense Intelligence Reference Document cover with the agency seal and a note placing it in a series of advanced technology reports under the office’s Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications (AAWSA) Program. Twenty-six, dated up to 6 April 2010, carry the series line Acquisition Threat Support and FY 2009; eleven, dated from 1 November 2010, carry Defense Futures and FY 2010. On every paper the author’s name and the programme manager’s are replaced by AAP Person Labels. Two papers are dated after the last extension of the AAWSAP Contract HHM402-08-C-0072, and no page of the contract file lists, names or counts the papers.
What the papers cover
Materials: metallic glasses, programmable matter, biomaterials and aerospace structure, Invisibility Cloaking, spintronics and Negative-Index Metamaterials. Gravity and spacetime: superconductors in gravity research, Anti-Gravity, Negative Mass Propulsion, vacuum engineering, warp drives (Alcubierre Warp Drive), traversable wormholes (Morris-Thorne Wormhole) and the detection of negative energy. Energy and propulsion: High-Frequency Gravitational Waves, extracting Zero-Point Energy, Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion, nuclear pulse propulsion, Positron Propulsion, Aneutronic Fusion Propulsion, space access and Laser Lightcraft. Power and weapons: High-Power Microwave Weapons, ultracapacitors, Magnetohydrodynamic Propulsion, high-energy lasers and the tracking of hypersonic vehicles. People and machines: brain-machine control, biosensors, cockpits for breakthrough flight, quantum and DNA computing, and the cognitive limits of remote piloting. And three that design nothing: a statistical Drake Equation, Nonlocal Signalling and Maverick Inventors.
What they do not say
Across the 37, only Anomalous Field Effects on Human Tissue uses UFO as a word, and none uses UAP. Most state their own limits plainly: optical cloaks do not yet exist, a warp drive’s energies are far beyond the foreseeable future, and quantum electrodynamics does not support continuous vacuum energy extraction. One paper on detecting negative energy ends two recommendations with the same sentence, on a sensor array for surveillance and detection of any anomalous aerospace platforms using engineered spacetime for propulsion; another lists optical side effects of engineered spacetime around a craft, such as light bending and blinking out, as consequences of its physics rather than reports of anything seen.
