The core experiments of the very small, where a particle refuses to sit in one place, or to have agreed anything in advance.

LIVE An extreme macro view inside a dark vacuum chamber: two polished gold mirror plates mounted face to face on steel micrometer fixtures, a hair-thin gap between them crossed by a few faint, evenly spaced ice-blue standing waves, while the vacuum outside the plates shimmers with a dense haze of blue-violet ripples of every wavelength, cold teal rim light tracing the steel mounts and gold edges against a deep black background. The Casimir Effect CASIMIR 1948 · INST-33 T1 Established Two uncharged metal mirrors in vacuum, pushed together by the vacuum itself: fewer electromagnetic modes fit between them than outside, and the gradient of that deficit is a force measured to better than 1%. LIVE A quantum-eraser visualisation: a dark detection screen where a cyan + channel stacks into bright fringes and a magenta - channel into the complementary anti-fringes, beneath a two-slit barrier with H/V path tags and a rotating 45-degree eraser analyzer. Quantum Eraser SCULLY–KIM · INST-31 T1 Established Tag which slit a photon took and the double-slit fringes die, no one has to look. Erase the tag and they only come back once you sort the hits by the eraser's two channels: one a fringe, the other its exact anti-fringe, while the combined screen stays flat. Even when the choice is made after the photon has landed. Step through the three configurations, flip the view from the combined screen to the sorted channels, and switch the marker and 45-degree analyzer yourself. No retrocausation here: no signal travels back, only a correlation is revealed. LIVE An entangled source firing pairs to Alice and Bob analyzers, above a correlation graph where gold data points trace the quantum −cos θ curve bowing outside the straight local-realist line. Entanglement EPR–BELL · INST-07 T1 Established Make two entangled particles and send them apart; measure one and the other answers in lockstep, too tightly for any "they agreed in advance" story. Flip to a local-realist source and it cannot keep up. LIVE A detection screen filling with single particle dots that stack into bright interference fringes, beneath a not-to-scale schematic of a source, a two-slit barrier and a screen. Double-Slit QM · INST-06 T1 Established Fire one particle and it lands as a single dot; fire thousands and they stack into stripes only a wave can make. Try to catch which slit it took, and the stripes vanish.
